This logo design was made for the organization called Oak Street Foundation in Mount Vernon Ohio. They are a non-profit looking to promote community resilience and environmental sustainability with local resources like water, sun, and earth, by distributing and teaching the use of items like water purification systems, rain barrels, sun ovens, portable solar panels, etc. They requested a logo be designed to start there organization along with business cards.

The logo consists of the oak leaf, slowly growing circularly around the center with a house. The roots connect to the bottom to give the logo a gestalt circle, showcasing the organizations organic nature at its roots. The oak leaf surrounding the house represents a sort of organic and natural "protection" that they want to show to the community through what they offer and support.

The color palette is simple, using organic colors like brown and green for the leaf and roots, as well as complementing those colors with lighter browns for the color of the house. The "Oak Street Foundation" text surrounding the logo is made using Averia Serif Libre, a serif font that also gives the type an organic nature with its slightly curved lines in the type.
